General Questions
Mould grows when moisture and poor ventilation create the right conditions for spores to settle and multiply. This can be due to condensation, leaks, cold spots, damaged plaster, inadequate airflow or a combination of factors. The cause is rarely one single issue, which is why a professional survey is essential for proper diagnosis.
Mould can affect air quality and may cause irritation for people with asthma or respiratory sensitivities. Certain environments, such as care homes, require special caution.
No. Mould grows back if the cause is not identified and treated. Surface cleaning alone is rarely enough, even if the patch disappears temporarily.
Survey Questions
Yes. A survey identifies the cause of the mould so the hazard can be removed first; ensuring the treatment is effective and long lasting. Without a survey, the problem often returns.
A Non-Invasive Survey provides a quick diagnostic assessment using moisture readings, thermal imaging and visual inspection. A full Damp and Mould Survey is more detailed and includes deeper environmental assessment, ventilation analysis, building fabric evaluation and a full property review.
If we suspect a hidden leak, structural issue or moisture source that cannot be confirmed with surface level tools, an Invasive Survey allows us to inspect behind walls, floors or ceilings. Openings are small and repaired by our team. These surveys usually take ½ days to complete.
Most surveys take between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the size and complexity of the property.
Reports are provided within 72 hours and include photographs, readings, causes and a clear plan of action.
Treatment Questions
Yes. Our COSH free treatment is safe for children, pets, elderly residents and people with respiratory sensitivities. It does not produce harsh fumes and does not require the property to be vacated.
Most treatments take between one and three hours depending on the number of rooms.
If the underlying cause is repaired, the mould should not return. Treatment removes the existing mould. Repairing the cause prevents it from reappearing.
No. Bleach does not kill mould at its root. Our treatment is non-toxic and much more effective.
Repair Questions
Mould grows because something in the property allows moisture to build or settle. This may be a leak, poor ventilation, cold bridging, insulation issues or external defects. Repairs fix the cause so the mould cannot return.
Yes. Our Root Cause Repair Service covers ventilation improvements, leak repairs, guttering corrections, plaster reinstatement, insulation corrections and other works linked directly to the survey findings.
No. You are free to use our team or your preferred contractor. Our independence means our recommendations are unbiased.
Testing and PRV Questions
Post Remedial Verification, known as PRV testing, confirms that air and surface conditions are safe after mould treatment. This is especially useful for care homes, housing associations and vulnerable environments.
PRV testing is optional for homeowners but strongly recommended for commercial settings, care environments, landlords, HMOs and social housing providers who require evidence of safety.
Results typically take between 48 and 72 hours once laboratory analysis is complete.
Landlord and Tenant Questions
Yes. We can communicate with tenants to schedule appointments, which reduces administrative work for landlords and letting agents.
We can provide simple, non technical explanations that help tenants understand what is happening and what steps are being taken.
